Sprinkle some inspiration in my direction...

Lately, I’ve noticed that I’ve become un-inspired with life it seems. The stress of graduation, end of semester strain and the normal stresses of life have really worn me down lately. I’ve noticed it takes me much longer to do school work then it should, especially basic projects that should have me very excited about the future.

I’ve decided to combat this stress with an inspiration journal. One of my favorite blogs, NYC PR Girls, recommended keeping the journal as a way to stay sharp in the field. I’d never considered something as simple as inspiration to get me through these last few weeks as a full time college student (Next semester will consist of an internship and two classes). But we’ll see how it goes!

Although my journal/blog will not be centered wholly around PR, inspiration in the rest of one’s life will carry over to their professional life.

As my first Inspiration entry, I chose several quotes :

Wild Ride

This Fall seems to be slipping by faster than I am prepared for. This weekend was a total blur.

Saturday I spent the morning the barn riding my wonderful ponies. Nothing makes me happier then being around them. Mac got a little extra turn out time. This is a picture of him and Scooby, our Great Dane, running up and down the fence line, loving life.

Saturday night was my cousins wedding. It was held at the beautiful Bluff Creek Clubhouse. It was great to see everyone from around town. Since I'm in an events class, I got to bring two friends along. We were preparing a presentation on the wedding. Here is a picture of the wedding.

Luckily for me, I didn't have  alot to do on Sunday. Crown shots were not the smartest way to keep warm. However, it was cousin Bens 19th birthday. In honor of him, here is a picture of him flyfishing this summer in Alaska!

That's all for now. Headed to Biloxi, MS tomorrow. Jay is fishing in the SKA National Fishing Tournament. And I get to gamble! Lots of pictures to follow, I'm sure. 

Aughhhhh

Tomorrow is my first true interview and I am terrified. Although I feel like I’ve got some of the skills that would be beneficial for the internship, I’m scared it just won’t be enough. I hate to fail, and this is something that I really want. Hopefully everything goes well! Since this is all I’ve been thinking about today, I thought I would post some of the more helpful links I’ve found.

- http://www.theladders.com/career-advice/how-to-answer-tell-me-about-yourself-interview-question This is a great site that answers the dreaded “Tell me about yourself” interview question. This is definitely one of the toughest for me to answer!

- http://www.prdaily.com/Main/Articles/20_tips_for_mastering_an_internship_interview_7287.aspx This also had some great, common-sense-that-you-may-need-a-reminder-of type tips.

I also plan on doing some yoga, as crazy as it makes me sound, it truly helps! Wish me luck..Hopefully, everything goes well and I don't make a total fool out of myself.
